New Era Detroit is an activist group with a focus on unifying and empowering their community and setting the example for others to do the same. As part of their community action, they regularly pass out food and help to the homeless and those in need, even in spite of deliberate obstruction from the police state. NED is certainly sending a strong message to others across the world concerning what kind of determination is necessary amidst a seemingly deteriorating economy.
Recently, the city of Flint Michigan switched its water source from treated Lake Huron water from Detroit, to treating water from the Flint River. After the switch was made, it became obvious that the city’s new water supply showed serious health dangers mainly due to lead contamination. This culminated with a federally declared state of emergency. NED has taken it upon themselves, not waiting for state action, to voluntarily help those in Flint who no longer have a safe water supply. They showed up with a truck full of bottled water and as of today have passed out a total of 23,000 bottles. If you would like to help them with their operations you can donate to them via their website as well as keep up to date with what they are currently doing here.
