In both work and the daily life there are many things that can increase and cause stress. But there are some simple habits you can adopt that can help you release and avoid stress.
Talk with your family and friends. It is well known that a daily dose of friendship is a great medicine. What do you think about calling or writing a text message to your friends or family to share with them your joys, dreams, hopes and even your fears? Try it!
Commit yourself to a daily physical activity. Regular physical activity relaxes the physical and mental tension of the body. Physically active adults have less risk of suffering from depression and memory loss. Physical activity can be a good source of joy too. Try to go to the park for a walk or to a swimming pool, maybe some music lessons with your partner or friend.
Accept it, there are things you can not change. Forget the old sayings like: “I’m old”. You always have the opportunity to learn new things. Establish short-term goals and work to make them a reality.
Always remember to laugh. Laughter makes us feel happy. Do not be afraid to let out a laugh once in a while after hearing a joke, watching a funny movie or even when you’re just reading funny things, laugh!
Get rid of bad habits. A lot of alcohol, cigarettes or caffeine can increase stress. If you smoke, leave it now!
Take it easy. Remember that life is not a career, plan your activities and give yourself the time to do the most important things.
Sleep enough. Six to eight hours are recommended for sleeping every night. If you can not sleep, it can be caused by stress, anxiety or depression. Remember that physical activity can help improve the quality of sleep.
Get organized. Make a list of your activities and focus on your most important tasks. Take large tasks one at a time. What do you think about starting organizing your work desk today? You can continue with your closet in your home and maybe your kitchen.
Practice generosity. Volunteering or returning a favor to a friend can help. Help others.
Try not to worry. The world is not going to end if you did not clean your kitchen or you did not fold your clothes. Do not worry, there is always time to do these activities, maybe only today was not the right time.
